Guy asked:
The computer has to be able to create and edit home movies (this is a separate entity from the digital movie camera). All together they should be lower than $2000. The digital movie camera is kinda optional for you to answer to. Thanks so much in advance.

Get any camera that has a firewire port so that you can record the video directly onto your computer. I have a sony handycam that takes mini dv tapes and it works great. Just make sure the computer you get has a firewire port (although you can get one for the PCMIA slot for less than $30)
I highly recommend using StashSpace for video editing, sharing, and storage. They have an easy to use app for editing that is free. Go to to check them out. They also have great customer support so give them a call if you need help.
